Checking a number takes a few seconds:
Every country has its own numbering plan with rules for how phone numbers are built. The validator checks the number you enter against those rules.
The number starts with a real country calling code, such as +1 for the US and Canada or +44 for the UK.
The number has the right number of digits for its country. Numbers with digits missing or added are flagged as invalid.
The digits after the country code match an area code or mobile prefix that exists in that country’s numbering plan.
Valid numbers are shown in international format, ready to save or dial from abroad, and in the national format used inside the country.
Most people validate numbers to save time and money on calls and messages that would never connect:
Typos and incomplete numbers pile up in every contact list. Validating numbers keeps your list accurate and your reports honest.
Make sure a number is dialable before your team calls it or your campaign texts it, especially when the number is in another country.
Customers and leads mistype their numbers all the time. Validating them early means you can still ask for the right one.
Every text sent to an invalid number is wasted. Removing invalid numbers first means you only pay for messages that can be delivered.
The free validator checks one number at a time. EasyRinger subscribers can validate numbers in bulk by uploading a CSV file, so a whole contact list can be checked at once.
Along with bulk validation, your EasyRinger account includes virtual phone numbers in the US, Canada, and many other countries, with calling, SMS, voicemail, and call forwarding. Plans start at $10 per month.

A valid number has a real country code and the right length and prefix for that country’s numbering plan, so it can be dialed.
An invalid number breaks one of those rules, usually because of a typo, a missing digit, or the wrong country code.
No. The validator checks the format of a number against its country’s numbering plan. It doesn’t call or message the number, so it can’t confirm that the number is currently in service.

The validator works with phone numbers from countries all over the world.
Enter the number with its country code, for example +44 for the UK or +61 for Australia. US and Canadian numbers can also be entered as 10 digits without a country code.
Start with a plus sign and the country code, then the rest of the number, for example +44 20 7946 0958. Spaces, dashes, and brackets are fine.
You can also start with 00 instead of the plus sign, as you would when dialing from abroad.
